The guard above the rotor is placed inside the upper rotor housing (not in TP 100). It ensures that the material whcih comes into the wood chipper must pass the knives before it leaves the wood chipper again. The guard ensures a uniform chip quality, perfect for heating purposes. When driving in green material or if there is no requirements to the chip quality the gurard should be removed.
