Focus on the environment
After the energy-crisis in 1973 a big interest for alternative heating methods occured. One, between many ideas, was heating with woodchips.
Up until 1980 a suitable wood chipper did not exsist on the Danish market. In 1981 Linddana changed this picture by introducing the first TP-Wood Chipper and the right chips for heating was now available in the right quality and quantity.
The development of the Danish market for wood chips are highly monitored both on the technical and the marketing side by Linddana. In 1986, Uldum Heating Station changed to heating with wood chips as one of the first in Denmark. In 2005 wood chips are used by 76 power and heating stations all over Denmark.
The increased focus on the environment made wood chips very popular in the green sector. In this sector wood-chips are used for path and bed covering which is very common in Denmark and most of Europe. Even in warmer countries such as Jordan, Tenerife, Etiopia, Caribian and South Africa, wood chippers have been sold.

Wood chip is a natural product and has many good qualities
Wodd chips which are used for path- and bed coverings can be purchased in almost every garden center both in Denmark, but also abroad. When using "chip covering", you avoid the use of pestesites, as a layer of 10-15cm makes it almost impossible for weed to get through. This feature has made wood chips a very popular product both for communities but also for private households.
Wood chips used for heating is a highly professional industry. In forestry, wood chipping is the most utilized method in order to dispose tree- and tvigs rubbish and has become a positive economical factor. Many private households have installed a chip-heater and wood-chips is today a common trade product both for heating and for coverings.
