The Danish manufacturer of TP Wood Chippers has put every ounce of energy into complying with the new European Standards of Safety, EN13525, since it was introduced 2 years ago.
EN13525 specifies safety requirements and their verification for design and construction of transportable, i.e. self-propelled, mounted, semi-mounted and trailed wood chippers used in forestry, agriculture, horticulture and landscaping.
The safety requirements is an important issue both for the company´s image but also in order to protect the users of the TP wood chippers. This is the reason why it has been a top priority for Linddana A/S.
The EN-Standard is very comprehensive. To highlight some of the precautions that are made to the wood chippers, it is worth mentioning
- Infeed Stop Control - when pushing the operation bar mounted around the funnel an automatic emergency stop will occur
- Reset after emergency stop - It is not possible to reset the emergency stop to normal operation without having to do a physical action. A reset handle is now mounted on all TP Chippers and has to be activated
- Ergonomics - Extra handles are mounted in order to tip the infeed chute in ergonomically correct positions
- Stability of wood chipper - the wood chippers have been tested in many different angles and degrees taking into account height and width of the machine. The spreading of weight is incorporated in the construction phase
- Durability of chipping components - The heart of the chipper, the rotor and knives are tested at twice the normal rpm for at least 2 minutes in order to avoid cracks and deformations
- Ejected objects and reduction of sound pressure level - Plastic curtains are now mounted in the infeed chute on all park and forest machines
- The noise level of the machines is measured and marked according to EN 13525
- The manuals that comes with the machines are drawn up according to the EN 13525 requirements
Linddana A/S has manufactured wood chippers for more than 25 years within the garden, park and forest range and has through the years gathered considerable experience in terms of functionality, design and high quality. The company manufactures wood chippers both for mounting to a tractor but also wood chippers mounted to a trailer with its own engine.
Focus on the environment
Originally the goal was to develop wood chippers which could produce chips for heating as a replacement for fossil oils. Later it turned out that the increased conscience concerning recycling of nature´s own products also made chips a popular product in the green sector for covering and compost as well as for layering of paths and walking areas.
Utilising a TP Wood Chipper gives the end user the highest protection within the regulation of EN13525
